Our online driver training course is designed to fit around your teen's schedule, with everything they need to meet Vermont's driver education requirements and build safe habits from day one.

Online driver training course

Teens can work alone and at their own pace through AAA's 30-hour online driver education course which includes training videos, crash cam footage, driving simulations, interactive memory exercises, and quizzes. Teens who complete the course will be eligible to apply for a Vermont learner's permit if they are at least 15 years old.

Once students are enrolled in a driving school course, they can log in and view upcoming behind-the-wheel lessons, make or modify appointments, and more.

Frequently asked questions

New to our driving program? Find answers to the most common questions about lessons, scheduling, and what to expect on your road to getting licensed.

Students can book their first in-car lesson on or after the "In-Car Availability Date" chosen during the enrollment process. A permit is required to begin driving lessons. If you do not have your permit, you will need to complete our 30-hour online course and pass the Vermont DMV knowledge test. Behind-the-wheel lessons cannot be scheduled until your account is paid in full.

You can schedule lessons online at the Student Portal. Students will receive an email with instructions on how to access the Student Portal. We allow two lessons to be scheduled at one time which are scheduled a minimum of two weeks apart.

The length of time it takes to complete the program is dependent on the availability of the student, the availability of the instructors and other events outside The Auto Club's control. Lessons are spaced a minimum
